Sherry Descendants of Henry Vernon Brown Generation No. 1 1. HENRY VERNON3 BROWN (LUNY LEE2, JIM1) was born March 06, 1916 in Lonoke Co AR, and died May 30, 1991 in Lonoke Co AR. He married MADIA "MADIE" LENTZ October 05, 1935 in Humnoke, Lonoke County, AR, daughter of WILLIAM LENTZ and THELMA BEADY. Notes for HENRY VERNON BROWN: Henry and Maddie and a double wedding with Marie Brown and Basil Abrams. Henry and Maddie lived in Humnoke, AR after they married. Not sure of the time frame (maybe early 50's) but at one time they operated a skating rink and general store in Humnoke. The location of the store is in the area where Tom Dismuke build his house. While they were living at Humnoke, Judy Isbell, Thelma and Toad's daughter, lived with them so she would not have to walk so far to school. She stayed during the week and came home on Friday. According to Vernon, Henry went to Chicago after some "misunderstanding" with the law. A relift that belonged to the state was found on Henry's property and when the law came to see Henry, he went out the back door. He waded Crooked Creek and walked to Humphrey and called his sister Marie to come get him. Marie took Henry to Little Rock and Henry caught a plane to Chicago. Vernon thinks that Uncle Henry went to Chicago because some of Aunt Annie's family lived there? ? Henry got a job unloading trucks that came to warehouses. He then got a job at Zenith Radio and later became employed at Teletype. Henry purchased two apartment complexes in Chicago. Vernon went to live in Chicago after he got out of the service (Korea 1953-1956). Vernon also worked at Teletype. After Henry retired from Teletype, he and Eula Mae moved to Cabot and bought a Dairy Bar. They successfully operated the Dairy Bar for several years. It was Henry who established the Brown Family Reunion the first Saturday night in December. The first reunions were held at the Dairy Bar.

After Henry's death Delbert Brown, Henry's brother, after discussions with the Jackson family, disclosed to Henry Brown's children that Henry and Wanda Ruth Jackson had a son. Both families kept this secret from the children while Henry lived. Delbert arranged for the son of Henry and Wanda Ruth, Dale McKenny, to meet with family members at Delbert's house in the summer of 2003, if I remember correctly. Dale grew up to become a very successful financial administrator and was Chief Financial Officer with CCOW when he retired in 2006.
Henry remained active until his untimely death. He was on a tractor that rolled over on him.
